Water usage guide

Find out how much water and wastewater the average metered household uses, and how much you could pay.

Please use these figures as a guide only – the amount of water you use will vary depending on your circumstances.

The table below reflects average water and wastewater usage, and cost per year based on our charges for April 2019 to March 2020.

  • Find out whether we supply your water and wastewater services by checking your postcode
  • Wastewater usage is calculated at 92.5% of the water your household uses
  • One cubic metre = 1,000 litres
  • If you don't pay for surface water drainage, monthly payments will be £2 lower

You can monitor your own water use by reading your meter, which can also help you identify leaks at your property.
