Tell us about a bereavement

We’re so sorry for your loss. We want to help and support you as best we can at this very difficult time.

We’ve come up with some really simple forms to make it as easy as possible for you. We will need a little information about the executor too.

Please follow both steps below:

  1. Please give us the executor’s details.
  2. Please select one option: keep the account but change the name of the account holder or close the account altogether.

We also accept notifications from Life Ledger – a free death notification service that helps simplify the administrative process. The platform allows you to contact all companies connected with the deceased, Southern Water included, thus removing the need to have the same difficult conversation over and over again.

What happens once Southern Water have been notified?

Bills will be issued as normal until the closure of the account; the balance does not need to be paid by the executor and only payable by the estate of the executor once probate is issued (if applicable).

Southern Water have partnered with Phillips and Cohen Associates who specialise in Deceased Account Management. Where appropriate they will engage with executor/solicitors who are managing the estate and will be on hand to answer any questions and offer specialised support when needed the most.
