Being water-savvy in the hot weather

We’d like to say thank you to all those who are being extra-conscious of their water use and cutting usage wherever possible, especially with the current hot weather and demand being much higher.

Things are set to heat up again from today (July 30), and while the sun his got his hat on, we thought we’d share some of our best water-saving tips again to help ease the demand (during lockdown people have been using between 10 and 20 per cent more water than usual).

Firstly with showers expected in some areas over the weekend, leave your lawn to go brown and retain the lawn’s moisture for longer by giving the roots some shade.

In your home, place a jug of water in the fridge so you’ve chilled water ready to drink, rather than running your tap until the water runs cold.

And if you need to boil the kettle, only fill it with the amount of water you need. This will save both water and energy.

Thank you again to all of our customers for being water-savvy and please do share your own water-saving tips with us.
