Supporting charities in the communities we serve

November 2021

Tracy Milward
Volunteer Coordinator, Aldingbourne Trust

What was the challenge?

The Aldingbourne Trust runs an outdoor visitor centre, petting zoo and café. It supports adults with learning challenges to engage in meaningful work and to develop skills in a supportive environment. Maintaining the grounds to keep on with its work is a challenge due to the size of the area and the limited funds it has.

What did we do about it?

The team of volunteers from Southern Water helped freshen up Aldingbourne’s outside area with a new coat of paint. Our volunteers have a long-standing relationship with the charity and enjoy spending time volunteering there.

What are the benefits for our customers?

We are proud to support charities in the communities we serve. Our volunteering opportunities, such as this one, help us to connect with people and make a meaningful contribution to the valuable work being done.

After almost two years we were delighted to welcome Southern Water Corporate Volunteers back on site. We are so grateful for their continued support, making the site look more presentable. Thank you so much!
