Helping a young family in Brighton to save water
Following a free water saving visit, the family are saving £35 a year. Our engineers installed new shower regulators and a water butt in the garden to help get them started on their mission to save water.
They also found out about some tips to save water while they go about their everyday lives. One tip was to keep a jug of cold water in the fridge - to avoid leaving the tap running until the water’s cold every time you want a drink of water. Another was to wait for a full load before using the washing machine.
What a water saving visit can do
The family has seen a reduction in water usage. They managed to make saving water into something they do now as part of their everyday lives. These are habits that the young children will carry with them as they grow up. Our free water saving home visits are part of our Target 100 campaign, with the aim of helping customers reduce their average daily water usage to 100 litres per person each day.
How a water saving visit works
An engineer makes the visit and can fit free water saving devices, as well as giving advice about how to save water. The engineer may be able to put shower regulators on shower heads, adjust the flow of water from your taps or even fit a water butt so that you can collect rainwater for the garden.
